CAD-HR

Centre for the Advancement of Development and Human Rights

We are a UK-based charitable organisation (1178974) advancing human rights and development. We advance human rights through our Community Law Initiative and advance development through our Migrant Community Development exemplified by our work with the Mano River Union (MRU) Diaspora Community in the UK. This community consists of descendants from Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, and Ivory Coast living in the UK.

Advancing Human Rights and Development

Established as a registered charity (1178974) and a community-based institution, CAD-HR combines legal support, migrant communities development, and research-informed practice because human rights and development are inseparable.

We work with migrant and marginalised communities to improve access to justice, strengthen community capacity, and build pathways to long-term wellbeing and economic participation.

We Envisage

A world in which migrant and marginalised communities secure their rights, build shared wealth, and shape the institutions that govern their lives, with human rights and development realised in everyday life through access to justice, secure homes, community-owned wealth systems, and trusted community institutions.
